Guitars for your Rock Banding pleasure.

Courtesy of Walrus Gumboot and Beatles News, here's a Rock Band update. We've already been told about the Rock Band bundle, which will come with the game itself as well as a replica Hofner bass and Ludwig-esque drum set. Turns out that those of us who prefer to pretend we're John or George instead can also buy fake guitars. Witness the replicas of the Rickenbacker 325 and the Gretsch Duo Jet.

There are those of us who might wish it had been an Epiphone Casino instead. But we are probably being greedy, nerdy, and totally ignorable even to point out such a thing. My primary complaint is that Rock Band is looking to be a more and more expensive proposition. Each of these replicas-- which it must be said look just wicked, wicked cool-- will retail for $99, in addition to your already $250-ish (if I remember correctly) deluxe Beatles Rock Band package. I'm really glad they made these. I just suspect that I'm not going to be able to buy them myself. Not that I'd turn them away in the form of a Christmas present, or something.

By the way, since I forgot to say this earlier-- I'm in New York for work tomorrow, then in DC for pleasure for the rest of the weekend. So, forgive my erratic posting in the next few days.

  1. Isn't that the Casino on the Beatles Rock Band home page? I just noticed it following your link to it.

  2. See, exactly-- it sure looks like a Casino to me. Oh well.

  3. I'm confused. I haven't seen any reference to the bundle coming with a guitar, just Paul's Hofner. And I include amazon's listing for the bundle, which I checked after posting above. Yet there's the Casino. Maybe this is a stealth announcement?

Also, if anyone could tell me why I'm this excited about the whole thing, considering I almost certainly won't take the $600 plunge and buy the bundle/console, I'd appreciate it.

Lastly, thanks very much for the blog list add, as well as your comments over at my crib.
