In 2009, I'm going to make a point of listening to a new Beatles song every day. OK, so, I'm already incredibly familiar with these songs. Really, past the point of what might be considered reasonable, I know these songs. But sometimes I need to just stop and listen to them again-- not sing along while I make dinner, not have an inner debate with myself about what month of what year the song was recorded in, not have some loud discussion with my husband over the noise.

There are some who might say I would have a more productive year listening to music that I'm actually NOT already totally familiar with. Yeah, well, maybe. But that's not what I'm going to do. This is comfort music. New music is this whole scary unknown world with weird genre-within-genre terminology that I don't understand. I'll listen to it in my more adventurous years.

So starting January 1, and hopefully every day thereafter, I'll write a post on what song I'm listening to. Unfortunately, the Beatles catalog being what it is, I can't really post audio links or refer you to iTunes to recommend tracks to you. I'll write for a Beatles collection as complete as mine, which frankly they should all be.
